Choosing the right duvet Choosing the perfect duvet can prove to be a very confusing experience, what with tog ratings, sizes and different down varieties. Here we will explain the differences between them so that you are able to make the correct decision and sleep soundly night after night.

Which Tog should I choose?Firstly you should decide which tog is going to suit you better. The tog rating is the warmth of a duvet and is determined by the quality and quantity of the down used for its filling. Remember that the weight of a duvet has no relation to its tog rating - a duvet which is very light can be extremely warm, again it comes down to the quality of down used.
3 & 4.5 tog Used for the height of summer or for children who are unable to regulate their temperatures as well as adults ( please note that duvets and pillows are not recommended for children under 12 months)
6.0 tog Use for summer if you get cold in bed or use for spring & autumn if you get very hot in bed, again a good duvet for children
9.0 tog Use for spring & autumn if you get hot in bed
10.5 tog Use for spring & autumn or winter in houses that have central heating on at night time
12.0 tog Use for winter in warmer houses
13.5 tog Use for winter in a cooler house or if you get cold at night
Four seasons : A combination of two duvets which are held together using ties. This duvet consists of a 4.5 tog and a 9 tog. Use the 4.5 tog for the summer months and join them together for the cold winter nights. Please note that this duvet will arrive as two seperate duvets which have button holes in each corner, allowing them to be tied together and placed into your duvet cover as one duvet.
Please remember that a natural duvet does work with your natural body heat anyway and it will drape around your body, unlike a synthetic duvet, so there will be no draughts to give you a chill during the night. The points to consider are whether you are an extremely hot or cold blooded person and whether you have central heating on throughout the night or have your windows open. Should you need any help in choosing your tog then please feel free to contact us and ask any questions that you may have. |
Goose Down Pillows A good pillow is ever so important and conducive to a good night's sleep, down pillows provide the best support as they work naturally with your head, neck and shoulders. Down pillows are full and springy by nature and it is this property that allows them to fall naturally around your head as you place it down upon the pillow. The down will snuggle into the gap between your head, neck and shoulders and mould itself around you, giving you the support that you need.
The comfort factor with a natural down pillow is second to none, down is the softest, snuggliest and cosiest filling for any pillow, your head will sink into slumber with these pillows... guaranteed! As with the duvets, the filling inside the pillow works with your body temperature ensuring that your sleep is not interrupted with feelings of extreme temperature changes.
In the morning you merely have to plump your pillow slightly for it to spring back to its usual fluffy self, making your bed look sumptuous and leaving you with the knowedge that you will again sleep soundly tonight.
